Tomato-yuzu pon (Ponze made by tomatoes, yuzu-oranges and soy sauce)

This product is a blend of tomato vinegar made from 100% high quality tomatoes and local yuzu juice from the Yusukawa area in Shirokawa Town, located at an altitude of 600 meters taking advantage of the difference in temperature between day and night and the mountain pure water.
It is characterized by its gentle taste, and even those who do not like acidity can enjoy it. It can be used as an all-purpose seasoning that goes well with all kinds of dishes. Also, it softens meat and fish as the ingredients and increases the richness and mellowness in tastes and it gives you a chance to get lycopene, which is expected to have beauty and health benefits.

This is the most popular product of Yusukawa The Lycopene’s. The tomatoes used are naturally pollinated by bees instead of being treated with hormones, and a maturing period brings out the sweetness and fine flavor. The tofu is made from high-quality soy beans grown in andosol, soil rich with minerals from volcanic ash, water of high clarity from 55m below ground, and bittern from Ako. These excellent products characterized by a skillful production process that includes adjusting the time soy beans soak in water depending on the weather, have a high soymilk sugar content of 13-14%, the original umami (flavor) of the soy bean, and moderate firmness.

Camembert Cheese Roman in the Forest

Camembert cheese made from raw milk produced in Seiyo City, known as one of the best dairy farming villages in Shikoku. The process of making the cheese follows the tradition of the Normandy region in France. For pursuit of deliciousness, the size of cheese has been decided 11 cm in diameter and weighs 250 grams, as lactic acid bacteria and white mold are said to be most active in this size. After opening the package, it gradually ripens and you can enjoy its changing flavor a little by little.

Tariki-mai Rice/ Tariki Rice

The Uwa Basin of Seiyo City is located over 200 meters above sea level. The rice grown here, blessed with the clear water of the River Hiji and rich soil, is characterized by its large grains and chewy texture. The secret of its deliciousness lies on the climate of Seiyo City. During the rice-growing season, from July to September, the average temperature difference between day and night in Seiyo City is about 10°C . This difference prevents the starch accumulated by photosynthesis from decreasing, and stores plenty of nutrients inside the husks.

Okuchi Horse Mackerel

Mikame Bay in Seiyo City is written “Okuchi Bay” on an old nautical chart. High quality phytoplankton and minerals flow into the bay through the steeply sloping mountains and rivers, and the tidal currents bring in an abundance of whitebait. Okuchi horse mackerel feed on whitebait and stay on reefs called “Se”, where the sea floor has risen. As a result, the skin of the fish does not darken or become damaged by sunlight during the migration process, as is the case with common horse mackerel, and the fish’s body shines with a golden color. In addition, the currents of the Bungo Channel provide the horse mackerels with moderate exercise, resulting perfect balance of meat quality with tighter flesh and fat.
